About Me

Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog!

A Little About Me

Like many northwest residents, I love exploring outdoors. Boating, swimming, hiking, and biking are some of my favorite activities.

Fond memories growing up include: family gatherings, horseback riding, competing in gymnastics, basketball, and volleyball with friends.

God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and three fun-loving kids. My two boys are now married and my daughter is about to begin her college journey, which will leave us as empty nesters. I’m happy-sad about this change – happy for my kids who are growing into productive, God-loving adults; sad that my babies are leaving. But God has this, so I know it will all be okay. πŸ™‚

Speaking of changes, I’m taking a breather from writing posts, although I’m keeping my WordPress blog open. I’ve been passionate about Fine Art Photography for several years now and have just opened a storefront on Etsy with some of my pictures. You may find my store in the following link, (I use my married last name).

I’m thankful for my upbringing. My parents not only lived out their faith, but also took my brother, sister and me to church. This is where I learned God’s truth and love for people. At the age of four, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. He continues to teach and challenge me to embrace His ways and abundant life.

God laid it on my heart several years ago to write/blog what He has taught me through Bible study, relationships, and/or circumstances. He has been so good and faithful to me. It’s my desire that He is honored and glorified through my writing.

Blessings,

KD

  1. Body Ministry is a passion of mine. Encouraging others within the Body of Christ to use the gifts the Holy Spirit has given them to make the Body of Christ complete with Christ as the Head is a teaching not often expressed.

With that in mind and because I follow your site and within the last several month have found inspiration, encouragement and/or instruction from your site, I am publishing the link to your site on my “Blogs Followed” page. You need do nothing in return, this is part of my ministry TO the Body of Christ. If however, you would rather not your link/site be associated with mine, please feel free to let me know and I will remove the link, no questions asked, no hurt feelings.

In the meantime, my prayer for you and your ministry (service to others and the Lord) is that you will be continually blessed with insight, creativity and abundant blessings from the Holy Spirit as you continue in your ministry!!

  2. Hello, I just discovered your amazing blog and it helps a lot with my Bible study. But it seems you haven’t written for a while now. I really do hope you will continue with it because you share very precious gems which I’m sure help a lot of people like me! Greetings from Valencia, Shalom

    • Hi, thank you for your kind words. I’m encouraged to hear that my blog has helped with your Bible study. I have taken a break for now as God has moved me in a different direction. But I may continue in the future. Blessings to you!

  3. I came across your blog β€˜by chance’. I was reading Exodus as part of my daily study and wanted to learn more about the priest’s ephod. I put a question into the Google search engine and your blog came up. I found your images and descriptions very illuminating, bringing what I had read to life.
I look forward to being further enlightened by your work. Thank you and God Bless.

  4. Greetings.
I came across your wonderful blog while looking into Jacob’s/Israel’s return to his home and wondering why he would promise to catch up with Esau to go to Seir but does a 180.
    I agree with your comments.

    What a suspenseful moment, from
    dread to relief.

    Both brothers had changed much!

    Thanks for your site.

    Blessings many, to you

    • Hello William, thanks so much for reading and for your encouragement. I have learned a lot from studying Jacob’s life. I love that God is in the business of changing sinful people and doing the extraordinary through ordinary people like me. Blessings to you!

  5. Hi KD,
I discovered your blog while I was doing some further reading on Jacob’s life. I am currently doing a bible study on the book of Genesis via BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) in Malaysia. I am much blessed reading the contents of your blog.
May God richly bless your work and may your sharing inspires the hearts of many who are thirsting for the precious Word of God. My prayers are with you.
